Who they are…

Alex Aimee Kist (they/them) is a poet and organizer whose work is informed by their identity as a queer, non-binary, disabled yearner. Their poetry is featured in The Bellingham Review, Beyond Queer Words, Button Poetry YouTube, and more. Alex is the founder of Queer Harbor, a queer-centric generative writing series on the Massachusetts North Shore. With a love of community organizing, they have worked on poetry festivals like: The NorthBeast Regional Poetry Slam and Festival (2023-2025), the Mass Poetry Write Here | Write Now | Speak Loud! Teen Spoken Word Festival (2026), and the BlackBerry Peach National Poetry Slam (2026). Alex believes that sharing personal stories is a radical act of self-love and hopes to empower others to do the same.
